Sea World

This is the dolphin nursery with a couple of the inmates. They were constantly on the move so hard to photograph.

This looks a bit like a Mediterranean fishing village which is on the 'shore' of the pond in the middle of the SeaWorld park. The boats are real. The one almost out of shot is a rather nice Seventies cruising yacht which is embedded in artificial rocks. The one afloat is a Hunter 240 in case you're interested!

It's actually a very picturesque garden apart from all the marine life. We don't have anything to teach the Americans about garden maintenance, or litter control. The place was immaculate.

This is one of the many rides we didn't go on, taken from the lift up the sky tower. Think a 300-foot long nut and bolt with passengers seated in two layers in the nut looking out as it ascends and descends the bolt, which is vertical.

This is our hostess Dorie looking out of a shark's jaw.

All the creatures we saw seemed content enough. The only exception was a polar bear which was pacing its enclosure.
We saw beluga whales, dolphins of course, turtles, otters, sea lions, seals, walrus, sharks and myriad other fish. Some of them are rescued animals, such as orphaned or injured manatees. We didn't see the orca but we caught one of those in San Diego many moons ago.
